About this Coffee

Our 1st release in the Global Gourmet Series is here. These incredible beans are grown on the Island of Sumatra (the 6th largest island in the world). Since Sumatra is right next to the equator, Sumatra’s climate is very tropical. One minute the weather is hot and humid, the next it is raining. Perfect for making a special coffee bean. In addition these beans are processed using a method called Giling Basah, or wet-hulling, which results in a coffee that leaves the farm with a much higher moisture content than other methods used more popularly worldwide. We have our master roasters roast this bean to a medium dark roast   As always our coffee is GMO free and made from 100% Arabica beans.

Tasting Notes

Our Sumatran Coffee from the Monkey Cult Global Gourmet Collection has a deep, dark, and inviting hue. With its complex flavor profile the first sip reveals a bold, deep intensity, marked by a distinct earthiness. The flavor unfolds layers of dark chocolate, with hints of roasted nuts and a subtle sweetness reminiscent of light caramel. There is a delicate spiciness that follows, offering a touch of warmth and depth to the coffee’s character. It’s roasted to perfection by master roasters and pairs well with a touch of whole milk .
